Searchable PDF - OCR Recognition Accuracy: Searchable PDF can be made made by multiple applications using different OCR engines. Different OCR engines will produce different levels of text recognition accuracy, as we demonstrate. Latest Digital Document Formats for Scanned Manuscripts: Scanned Manuscripts need to be in color, which makes for big files that are challenging to compress sufficiently for web delivery, but  the latest digital document compression methods in PDF and DjVu are up to the challenge. Presentation of New Adobe Acrobat 6 Compression Methods: Acrobat 6 is now released and so is the PDF 1.5 format upgrade, supporting JPEG2000 compression. Presented here are test files using the new compression methods of the PDF 1.5 format, and  a comparision to the DjVu format. Presentation of scanned Clippings in PDF and DjVu: Newspaper clippings can be scanned, OCRed, sized, matted, compressed and then seached on the web, in PDF or DjVu formats. Named Destinations for Newspaper Digital Tear Sheets: Named Destinations in PDF filess can both be used by newspaper publishers to create digital "tear-sheets" for advertisers.  The Named Destinations take the advertiser directly to a view of the ad where it is placed on the page. Broadsize Newspaper Comparison: Broadsize newspapers can be scanned and OCRed for web-searching, but care must be taken to prepare areas with shaded backgrounds for OCR.
